Metric Century – BionicOldGuy

Final Friday I did a metric century (100 km, or 62 miles) which I’d signed up for as a problem on Strava. I picked an excellent day for it because it was good and funky within the morning, beginning out at 7 AM and ending up just a little earlier than 11. I headed to the 4 corners round Morgan Hill, northwest first, then “across the reservoirs” (Chesbro and Uvas) which takes you to the Southwest, then down Day highway and north on Santa Teresa boulevard earlier than turning east and crossing over the valley, to the Southeast on rural roads in San Martin and Gilroy, the north once more onto roads northeast of Morgan Hill. It took me 3 hours 45 minutes which is a median velocity of 16.5 mph. My common coronary heart charge was 107 which is an efficient brisk tempo for an OG. I used to be fairly wiped after this. That is good for a problem however hopefully not too usually! For the foreseeable future I’d wish to preserve my longest rides right down to about 2 1/2 hours. I gave myself a few straightforward days after Friday and felt wonderful by Monday.

Climbing up the hill to Chesbro reservoir on Oak Glen Ave
Oak Glen Bumped into Uvas Highway and I turned South
Flying down the hill on Uvas rd from the Dam at Uvas reservoir
On Watsonville highway, approaching Chictatic Adams County park for a break, I headed south a few extra miles than circled and went again to Day highway. Sadly my digital camera’s reminiscence card bought full at this level, I’d forgotten to empty in earlier than the experience.
